Noa Forte knows how to make a case. Becoming one forces her to question what she has accepted, whom she has believed, and how much she is willing to risk to burn it all down.

Legal dramas often cast defense attorneys as champions of justice and prosecutors as agents of power. This series challenges that divide through a prosecutor whose pursuit of justice puts her at odds with her own institution.

Faith runs through Noa’s journey without smoothing its rough edges. Her struggle with anger, forgiveness, and purpose is raw, messy, and unapologetically human.

An overcharge. An unconstitutional stop. A quiet act of bias. The series explores how abuses dismissed as isolated incidents become routine, how they erode the foundations of democracy, and what it costs to challenge them from within.

The Other Side of the “v.” is inspired by my book, Prosecuted Prosecutor: A Memoir and Blueprint for Prosecutor-Led Criminal Justice Reform, and draws from my lived experience on both sides of the justice system.
As a former federal prosecutor, I know the responsibility of representing the United States and the culture of the institutions entrusted with pursuing justice. I also know what it feels like to be accused, to have others define your story, and to bear the weight of the criminal legal system and our most powerful institutions long after the event itself has passed.
Those experiences drive this series: what justice demands of us, how faith sustains us, and what we’re willing to risk to challenge the status quo.
In this conversation with NBC Correspondent Blayne Alexander, I reflect on the experiences and questions behind Prosecuted Prosecutor that would become the foundation for the series.
